Small Group Review

My group thought the story, message and feel of my movie was right, but did have some suggestions.

1. Slow down my text in the beginning that says “Asian American”
   
2. Work on some working of sentences.
   
3. Some of the opacity transitions aren’t quite on. Have to play around with them.
   
4. Make the ball or ‘ball like’ at the end. Have it bounce or something.
   

Overall...

Organization-Good, understandable

Content/Story- Good

Infographics- When 100 men come up on screen I can play with it.

Redundancy- Bring back the bouncing of the ball.

Color Help

I’m not sure who I was talking to about this about in type, but I thought I would put it up for everyone. It’s just a neat little site that has color combinations if you have a hard time with those. I think I found my color palette for my book covers last year with this.

Just too busy?

In the 2004 election Asian Americans were one of the least likely minority groups to vote. Only 29.8% went to the polls. This percentage was below African American, Caucasian, Jewish and gay voter turn outs. Reasons given where conicting schedules, registration problems, and just plain lack of interest. Why aren’t Asian Americans voting? Are you really too busy?

Dropping the Ball

In percentage terms, Asian-Pacic Islanders are the fastest growing minorities on college campus’ today. The report suggests that the Asian/Pacic Islander undergraduate population will swell by 600,000 students between 1995 and 2015, an 86 percent increase. This group will grow from 5.4 percent to 8.4 percent of all U.S. college students. However only 29.8% showed up to vote in 2004.

First Project!

In this next project our objective is to explore and promote an issue we think needs to be heard pertaining to the up coming election. The class will do this by making a motion graphic in AfterEffects that will be at least 20 seconds long. To prepare for this we will research issues that interest us and figure out how to transfer the issue into a motion graphic. We will also make storyboards, mood boards, and animated storyboards before the final project.
